The Night I slept in The Car

So, how's everyone's new year, 2019 going so far? Still sticking to your resolutions? I am! And I didn't make any!

So, I ended up sleeping in the car the night in my previous blog post. It was rough. I was exhausted and looking forward to cuddling with hubs now that he's back in town. My feet were swelling from sitting in same position in car for hours. I tell ya, I love my car, it's big and all but it is not a bedroom!
In the wee hours of the night, I went back and parked outside Cal's house, for safety. Something about parking a giant car in an unfamiliar neighborhood makes you feel exposed.

Lo and behold, there was Calvin as I was pulling up! He walked towards my car, and I was thinking, gosh! Now what? I don't know if this is a good sign or not! The passenger's door was unlocked, so he let himself in. Great! Small, enclosed space! This better be good!

He asked where I was. He also wanted to get to the bottom of blah blah blah. I just wanted to sleep. He had just spent the weekend away and driven  hours back to LA, why are you not dying to sleep right now? Can everybody just relax? The streets are quiet, the mall parking lots are off limits, because it's bedtime. I should know. I was just there! The more he talked, trying to resolve everything, the more worked up he got. I was like, dude, get out of my car, please! I can't right now! He got out.... came back,, apologized and asked me to 'come home'. I told him, only if there would be no talk... about anything! Deal? Deal!

I dragged my swollen feet and headed 'home'.

It's after  01:00 am at this point. I pretend to be asleep, so that, nobody starts talking to me, until he falls fast asleep, then I let my guard down and pass the f*ck out!

Like clockwork, I'm up in the wee hours of the following day. Hubs is a light sleeper, so, naturally, he wakes up. Everyone is in a good mood. He apologizes for the night before. I forgive and move on because peace is so much funner than drama.

Also, it's our anniversary, why be mad? We wish each other, he heads out. I do the dishes.
I remember taking a photo of myself in blue gloves doing the dishes and sending it to my friend from Georgia. It was around 09:00 am. Not long thereafter, Calvin was back home, apparently, he had rented a car, and, honey! We're going on vacation! Even though I had told him that wouldn't be the perfect time for me to go away. He came into the house, 'let's go!' Huh? What? What do you mean? Where? WHAAAATTTT?

A big blow up ensued!

He lost his mother freaking mind! Get in the fcking car now! Blah blah blah. I was in the bedroom. At this point, I had gotten really good at grabbing my escape necessities. It was just a matter of getting out the door. I couldn't because he was standing right by the door. There was no way out. He was going on and on and on. All I'm thinking is, how do I get out of here. Have I lost enough weight to squeeze between he and the door? Maybe not such a good idea.

I was seeing performances out of him that I had never seen before. The yelling was the loudest it had ever been. I had hopped that my brother in law would, for once, come to my rescue, seeing as I had asked him nicely the night before to do so, as I foresaw that something really bad was going to happen. (read: previous blog). Long story, short, this did not end well. Third and fourth and fifth parties were involved. It became a hell of a production. Eventually, I ended up in the streets again, talking to my friend who I had, an hour prior, sent a photo to. She was like, when did this all happen? You were just happy doing the dishes. I was like, welcome to my life!

That afternoon I was called the N word by Calvin's female best friend, I spent all night packing my sh*t.
Time to move on! It doesn't feel like love lives here anymore.

I went to bed lat and woke up early. I was up around 03:00 am, doing finishing touches of my packing. Around 07:00 - 08:00 am, I was out of there, heading Lord knows where!

I ended up in a library. What could be better? Free Wifi? Charging spots, and restrooms!

I sat there and looked up somewhere to stay. I ended up finding an Air BnB Not too far from there. The guy did take his sweet time responding to my emails. AirBnB had to get involved in confirming the spot. The library was closing, it was getting late, and I needed to know where I was going to sleep that night.

I arrived at the Air BnB before the owner did, so I parked in the backyard and went over stuff. I had a lot on my mind. I called the bank where Calvin and I had a joint credit card account. The machine said: This account has been closed! My heard almost jumped out my mouth. It was one more thing that made everything real. We weren't playing no more! How is this going to affect my credit score that I worked so hard at?

Family arrived, husband, wife and adorable twin girls.

I went into 'my room', took out my cleaning supplies and went to town.

That night, I slept like a baby!
