Getting Back into the Dating Scene

Weight loss progress photo
A few weeks into moving into my new place, I started noticing things you only notice when you live somewhere. I won't go over that list now, but something did happen that I had to get immediate attention for. I was in the living room, minding my own business, when I heard what sounded like water drip down the ceiling in the bathroom direction. I freaked out a little, jumped up and headed the direction of the sound! I get there and lo and behold

Are You Cheating on Us?

Getting on the plane from Cape Town, United States bound, started interesting. I’d booked myself a window seat. It’s my favorite! There was someone sitting on my seat and someone on the isle seat. Meaning, They’d left me the middle seat? I don’t think so, sista!

Not Today, Satan!

Quick photo blog of my African Voyage:
On my birthday!
I celebrated a birthday just before heading back States side. This was first thing in the morning.I took front and back angles of this photo. If I show you the back side, I'd have to kill ya. And I love you too much!

Would've been nice to be with the rest of the family during this special time, moreso on my mom's birthday, but

A Roach Crawling up a leg!

Enjoying my baths; day in and day out!

I got a lot done in Durban, South Africa; from getting my place fixed up, to watching lots of crime documentaries, haha! Tough job, but someone's gotta do it! To going for walks around the area, to reminisce on when I used to live there, many, many moons ago! Everything is so different now! Not necessarily in a positive way!
I had to clean the previous tenant's scum! Wonderful!
I went downtown Durban before heading back to Port Elizabeth. Mom and my sister, Pru needed some things from Durban. I tell ya, I was so nervous! I had to have my cell with me to call and confirm a few things and maybe send pics to make sure I got the the right stuff. This was going to be the first time in more than a month that I was in South Africa that I was going to take my phone out with me. Sorry, if this comes across as exaggerated... not sorry! You do what you have to do!

South Africa: Cry, The Beloved Country!

Next stop? Durban!
Hey, loves! If you’ve been following my journey on Social Media, you know I’ve been on the road, all across america, lately. More on that later!
With that said, hello from Purcell, Oklahoma!

Trying to update on the iPhone because I’m so behind and there’s so much to talk to you about.
We left off at mom’s in South Africa. From there, I headed to Durban by bus. Long ride! About 16 hours! I’d a nice seat towards the back.  Luckily, I didn't have to share it with anyone. The driver came over to ‘say hi’. As I extended my hand, he did something disgusting that I hadn’t experienced since South Africa. He fingered the palm of my hand! That’s something creepy perverts do. Not that there are none creepy pervs!
I was like eeewww! What are you doing? He smiled at me.  He told me he was going to come back and chat with me. I immediately felt so violated. These are the things I don’t miss about South Africa. That sense of hopelessness. Especially around men. It’s not all the time that you feel it. But it can be a thing. Remember how

Family Drama!

I’m in South Africa for the first time in years, having the time of my life! I have my own room, no husband is gonna keep popping in, wanna be start’n sumthn or anything! The rest of my family still had no idea I was in the country, so we started with mom. I called her from my sister’s phone to confuse her.
Mom picks up,

Africa! I'm Coming Home!

Traveling light! NOT!

It's been too long! I'm finally going back to the motherland! Tickets are booked! I already have most of my stuff in suitcases. I weighed and weighed and weighed my luggage pieces. Everything was more or less in order. I took a bunch of things from my eBay store to sell to my people back home. People had been asking me to either sell things online to them and ship to South Africa or to bring them stuff when I went back home. Well!

Fool me Once!

Shipping for my eBay store
One of the things I love about living in America is that I don't need to go all the way to The Post Office, which is always within a 1 mile (20 min) walk, so not back, but I can always just pay for shipping online, print out my label and put the package in the mailbox for the mailman to pick it up at no extra charge. Wow, that was a long

Hashtag Blessed

Enjoying the fruits of my work. You're welcome!
I was feeling so skinny this particular morning! This was around the same time, I had reached more than 100 lbs weight loss. I went and tried on a bunch of clothes, some of which had never fit me before and guess what? They fit! Case in point

Down more than 100 lbs
This was taken the day I exceeded my goal of dropping   lbs. It was a big day for me what with everything that was going on around me. It's always nice to see you're succeeding in some aspects of my life.Pro Tip: Set small goals for yourself, so that as you are constantly reaching them, you've constantly got something excited. You want to always be in that positive zone in general in life. Don't you? The weight loss journey is no child's play, so, do whatever it takes to stay afloat emotionally.

Just as I was celebrating my  pounds weight droppage, I got booked to be on a show about weight loss. I still can't believe how all that happened. They wanted to

Keeping Calm and Carrying On

With my husband, Calvin trying to get me deported and his constant yelling at all hours of the day and night and then apologizing 24/7; I still had things to do! For as long as I am still in this country, and still alive, I better make something of myself! Right? I buckled up and kept driving. Above was my first time at the Disney Studios in Burbank. I must say, I was kind of overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude when I set foot in this location that morning around 5/6am. I was playing a parent of a cheerleader in Code Black. I worked with Boris Kodjoe, I have a funny story about him,

Deportation: Good-bye American Dream!

At this point, I had returned my wedding ring to my husband, Calvin. He tried giving it back to me. I told him to hold on to it until we were at a point where we both felt like a married couple again. If we were ever going to get back to that point! He didn't love hearing this but I had to be protective of my heart. And his. This whole experience is not about a piece of jewelry to me but feelings. Are we both happy in this union? That's the

I'm Going, Going, Back, Back!

Following my date with my husband, Calvin on the previous blog, I had a lot to think about when I got back to my accommodation. I decided to move back in with hubs. My clothes were still in suitcases, so not much packing to do. Everything fit into my SUV just like it did when I moved out. Calvin was home when I arrived  that morning. He was ecstatic! I put all my stuff in the spare bedroom where my closet had always been.

Girl on Girl Date

I didn't know what to expect, seeing my husband, Calvin for the first time since I moved out a couple of weeks prior. It had been a hell of a time being away from what had been home for so long. One time, I was at a random library and realized it was so close to his house. He happened to text me while I was there. I told him he was in luck, he could come meet me there. Nice and public. He got so

Moving Out

After waking up in one strange cameras with secret cameras and going to bed in yet another house, I felt that much more pressure to find my own place. My least favorite is an open house. Gosh do I not like those! Where gazillions of Angelinos show up in hoped of snatching that apartment, grab an application form or show up with an already completed one that they got online, with application fee and hand it over to rental agent. Whatever the process, I don't like know how many people I am up against nor who. I went to view a studio apartment in Hollywood where

Secret Cameras in New Home!

Waking up in a strange home day after my anniversary wasn't something I had ever dreamed of. Thankfully the bed was comfy. I had always fantasized of being away from my home and sleeping for at least 2 days straight, to

The Night I slept in The Car

So, how's everyone's new year, 2019 going so far? Still sticking to your resolutions? I am! And I didn't make any!

So, I ended up sleeping in the car the night in my previous blog post. It was rough. I was exhausted and looking forward to cuddling with hubs now that he's back in town. My feet were swelling from sitting in same position in car for hours. I tell ya, I love my car, it's big and all but it is not a bedroom!
