PMS Cravings

Sidebar: it’s September 30th and I just tried on some non stretchy jeans to see where I stand with regards to everything weight and size. They’re my smallest jeans. I fit into them comfortably. But I’m heavier on the scale than I was when I first fit into them. Is the scale a scam? Anywho, I hope you had a great month of Sept. I did!

Healthy meal prepped for me by Colombian friend

My friend from Colombia, is also my friend from Ontario. I met her when I lived there forever ago. There's a story on this blog about me escaping a man's house I lived with. We called him Daddy. He once took me on a romantic date to a parking lot in Long Beach, CA. That story is here.

Taco truck tacos

I love ALL food Mexican food but for some reason, I am not someone who considers a taco a meal. They're just so small when they are! Maybe a burrito. I am not a big fan of that either. I will eat it. I love all the Mexican food from Grand Central Market downtown Los Angeles. I'm pretty sure I've already raved about them on this blog. During the month, I can behave, follow a routine, be nice to people, the whole shebang. There's a certain period in the month, pun intended, where I stray from all things Babalwa. Sometimes these hormonal periods come twice a month. I will notice a certain edge in my personality for a long period of time, then it will happen again after two weeks. Am I alone in this? Before I started journaling and realizing this pattern, I thought I had something more serious than just PMS. Well, I do, but that's a story for another blog. But right now, we're referring to PMS. That's the time when I will not even be interested in the ready made food in the fridge. I crave bread and fats. That's when you will find me at a Mexican Market counter grabbing Chicharrones. That's how I ended up with these tacos. Rio Grande is my favorite market. They make the perfect chicharrones. Some stores make them too hard in the skin, like Superior grocer. Sorry, Superior, I like your cheap produce but your cooked meats are old. I have tried different stores, from the time I lived with my wasband to when I lived in Pasadena to now that I'm a random in the Inland Empire. I've only tried two Rio Grandes. Both have fresh food. Good prices too.

I don't always have access to stores. Truck stop have super expensive convenience stores. I have reward cards, so  I will use points to pay there, even so, I still can't get myself to pay $5 for the worst loaf of bread. This is not Costco!Cue my famous Coconut Flour microwave bread!

Chocolate flavored with boiled egg and mayo

Mayonnaise is my soulmate. I do try to find the best tasting, lowest calorie kind cos I still need to maintain this svelte body!

Coconut flour plus flax seed flour bread
Fried Chicken is my other go to. I like the 8 pieces sold at grocery stores but they don't always hit the spot. I buy them for the breaded coating anyway. Why would I buy more chicken? I almost always had some in the fridge. Walmart makes the worst with that after taste. Albertsons is too salty. Vons and the other red stores is meh. I like Chicken tenders. Less guilt and more filling than random chicken pieces. Some truck stops have great ones. Some mom and pop truck stops have the best foods. Those are saved in my map app.

Here with Viennas
These viennas weren't great. I've yet to enjoy a Vienna sausage since moving to the States. It had been years since I last had them back in South Africa. Maybe I just don't like them as an adult. I get them from the 99cents store and Costco.

With Sardines
I got the highest number of story views I ever had on Facebook with this picture. Some even asked what this was. Even though it was captioned very clearly. I think the views were out of fascination of what this was. I wonder what they thought it was.

I will post another blog soon. Gotta change location. I came straight from work, sat at this desk and got to typing.
